MEET THE BOARD
These individuals have had the opportunity to collaborate and make decisions that help shape A4ONE. Their input and ideas are valuable as A4ONE strives to create a welcoming environment for all athletes. These Board Members help A4ONE promote refuge, access and unity as they dedicate their time to this facility. Everything they do, we are greatly appreciative of. Read below to get a glimpse as to who they are.
John Mejia Founder & CEO - Providence Investments
John Mejia is the founder and CEO of Providence Investments, a multifamily investments and development firm. John currently leads the company's strategic apartment investments acquisition and development platform throughout the US.
John attended Syracuse University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. Upon graduating from S.U., John was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Navy and later became an airline pilot for US Airways. John has been a guest speaker at Auburn University Harbert College of Business and the University of Alabama Manderson Graduate School of Business. He is also fluent in Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese. One of John’s favorite pastimes is spending time with his wife Kristi and two daughters.
Nick Crawford
Crawford is originally from Memphis, TN. At age 18, he moved to Birmingham and played baseball at UAB to where he currently ranks Top 10 in multiple categories. Following his graduation from UAB in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, Crawford married the former Catherine Douglass, a UAB softball player from 2009-12, in October 2011. The couple resides in Birmingham, and have 4 children: McCall 10, Halin 8, Lawler 6, Constant 4.
He serves as the current Executive Director of The Common Thread Community. Common Thread is a Birmingham based non-profit that focuses on creating spaces for growth of non-profits and mission driven entrepreneurs who are meeting the needs of residents in historically underserved neighborhoods. Our community hubs support small businesses, educational entities, workforce development programs, and wellness providers in unique venues that are convenient and accessible. Our current focus is in Titusville on a property called the Cultural Center.
Past experience includes: Co-Founder of A4ONE, Manager of Elite Alabama Training, Assistant UAB softball coach, and has helped launch over 10 business and ministries in Birmingham and served on multiple non-profit boards. Crawford also serves as the Client Relationship Specialist for Stewardly Advisors LLC.
Myles Mckee
Mckee first came to Birmingham in 2013 to play Quarterback for UAB. That summer he began serving in the Titusville Community holding football camps at memorial park with over a dozen of his teammates from UAB.
When the UAB football program shut down in 2014 it gave Myles the opportunity to dive into ministry full time. He Co-Founded a nonprofit in Birmingham with two of his best friends, Nick Crawford, and Sutton Shults, called "A4ONE" an athletic ministry geared towards creating avenues for discipleship to happen through sports. Within the walls of the 7,500sq ft. facility they experienced God move in many ways through small steps of faithfulness over a long period of time. This led to Myles joining the board for the Titusville Youth Sports Association where he has coached since 2015.
Myles later founded an after-school program in 2015 called “Asafo'' a holistic approach to mentorship addressing the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional needs of the whole child. The past seven years Myles was the Director of Urban Development for Common Thread where he led out in building community partnerships, creating small businesses to empower entrepreneurship within the Urban community, and led an initiative called “Sons to Fathers” with the focus of establishing men in the lives of the fatherless providing a support system for the child to which they could flourish. He’s also worked with Fellowship of Christian Athletes as the Urban Area Coordinator over Jefferson County. During this time both he and his wife Shila lived in Downtown Birmingham but decided to move just a mile away to the Community of Titusville where they have lived since 2016
In June of 2022, Myles transitioned into the role of City Pastor at Shades Mountain Baptist Church bringing his Wife Shila and their three boys Koa, Elijah, and True.
Myles serves on the board of directors for A4ONE ministries, Titusville Youth Sports Association, W.O.W Baseball Academy, Shades Mountain Baptist Church “City Ministry Scholarship”. He is also a sponsor and committee member of the Booker T. Washington Stakeholders Committee, Hemphill Elementary Stakeholders Committee and Parker Highschool Silver Club Sponsor.
Hugh Lee
Hugh Lee is an owner of Smash My Trash and Oak Mountain Solutions in Birmingham, Alabama. He also serves as Vice President of National Accounts for Smash Franchise Partners corporate office. Hugh is a top-producing sales leader with 24 years of sustained sales and management experience across a diverse set of organizations. He joined Smash Franchise Partners in July 2021. Previously, Mr. Lee held sales leadership roles at Vincari, PeriGen, and GE Healthcare. Hugh has an MBA degree and a BS degree from the University of Alabama. He serves on the board of directors for Leeds Outreach and A4ONE ministries.
Hugh is married to his wife, Jamie, and they have three children.
Sutton Shults
Sutton Shults is a co-founder and board member of A4ONE, as well as a Licensed Counselor. He earned his Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, along with a Graduate Certificate in Trauma Counseling, from Richmont Graduate University. Sutton also completed training in Narrative Focused Trauma Care at the Allender Center in Seattle, Washington. He is dedicated to helping individuals process their stories of harm and heartache to find hope, healing, and restoration. Additionally, he enjoys working with athletes to enhance their mental and emotional well-being and achieve their specific goals.
Sutton is married to his wife, Caitlin, and they have three children.
