ABOUT A4ONE
Athletics and fitness are one of the few things in the world that bring people together. A ball or workout connects you together as a brother or sister, a teammate, friend working towards a similar goal. It can bring together communities, ethnicities, socio economic classes, and families. Our journey started specifically in Birmingham with college athletes talking about life, God and using your gifts to serve each other.
As the year went on in 2014, we drove past Memorial Park in Titusville as it was a part of our normal rhythm and we knew that we wanted to be present at that park. We started playing football on Sundays and as the months progressed we met kids, residents, and leaders from the community.
One day a few college athletes and leaders were approached to coach in the football league, which also led into coaching basketball and baseball. Sports gave us access to a community that we began to love. It allowed us to be present almost daily and lead to year round involvement. Sports and relationships are so similar in that progress happens with time, work, and consistency. This allowed us to mentor, meet needs, and connect kids resulting in relationships that have led to life changing impact.
During this time we created an indoor facility that we could create a place of Refuge, Access, and Unity which are our pillars to this day. Over the years, Titusville and the surrounding areas exhibited a need for a place to train that was safe and accessible to them. Accessibility includes location, price, and a high-level of coaching. Lastly, we believe that when a common space for people from all walks of life can be together in a relationship, it can lead to unity!
Coaching is one of the most powerful tools in the world. It can be used to uplift and used to put down. We believe that coaching and athletics should be used to reveal potential and fortify who we were created to be. Sports can be a great tool to reveal purpose by engaging in something we enjoy, and competition can help us stretch our possibilities and help reach our potential. Through the years we have given 1000’s of hours in volunteer coaching, and a safe space for 100’s of kids providing a place where they can dream and work to better themselves personally, spiritually, and physically.
If our Mission resonates, please consider partnering with us in continuing to make a life changing impact by providing a safe space, where access is provided through sports and fitness with the hope of long-term thriving and unity. Thank you for your consideration.
